BirdLife Malta

From rocky coastlines and agricultural landscapes to wetlands and the surrounding Mediterranean Sea, Malta’s biodiversity is an essential part of the islands’ natural heritage.

What they do

BirdLife Malta works to protect wild birds, their habitats and Malta’s natural environment. Through conservation, research, education and public engagement, it supports biodiversity and encourages a stronger connection between people and nature.

Their work is varied and includes managing nature reserves, monitoring bird populations, protecting important habitats and advocating for stronger wildlife protection.

They also deliver environmental education programmes, involve local communities and provide care for injured and vulnerable wildlife.
