The Malta Geographical Society (MGS) is a voluntary organisation founded in 1943 to promote geographical knowledge and a wider appreciation of the Maltese Islands, including their natural environment, culture, and heritage.
What they do
The Malta Geographical Society promotes appreciation of the Maltese Islands through walks, talks, and activities centered on geography, the environment, and cultural heritage. It encourages members to explore Malta, Gozo, and Comino while discovering their natural, historical, and cultural features.
The organisation also brings people together through organised excursions, social gatherings, and site visits, giving members the chance to discover and appreciate the islands' landscapes, heritage, and geography.

The Malta Geographical Society welcomes anyone who is interested in exploring and appreciating Malta’s geographical, natural, cultural, and historical heritage.

Support through joining the organisation, taking part in activities and receiving the latest information about events and walks.

​Take part in one of the regular walks in Malta, Gozo, and Comino and discover the islands’ landscapes and places of cultural and historical interest.
Education
The Malta Geographical Society promotes appreciation of the Maltese Islands through walks, talks, film presentations, and visits to cultural and historic places. Since its foundation, the Society has used these activities to encourage interest in geography, the environment, and the cultural features of Malta, Gozo, and Comino.
