What they do
Koperattiva Rurali Manikata (KRM) focuses on protecting rural life, supporting local farmers, and safeguarding the natural, historical, and cultural heritage of the Manikata area. The cooperative promotes sustainable agro-tourism, traditional farming practices, local food production, and appreciation of Malta’s rural environment.
Through the management of Ir-Razzett Tal-Qasam and the Rural Heritage Trail, KRM combines conservation, education, and community activities to help people learn about agriculture, farming traditions, and the importance of protecting rural landscapes.

Education
Koperattiva Rurali Manikata (KRM) provides hands-on learning experiences that connect children with farming, rural traditions, Malta’s agricultural heritage, and the importance of caring for the natural environment.​
Through the Rural Heritage Trail, students explore the farms and fields around Tal-Qasam while learning about animal husbandry, local farming practices, traditional production methods, and the relationship between agriculture and the surrounding ecosystem.
KRM’s Summer Club offers outdoor educational activities where children learn through nature exploration, animal care, gardening, crafts, games, and countryside experiences that encourage curiosity and respect for rural heritage.
