Sharklab-Malta protects sharks, rays, skates and other elasmobranchs through research, conservation, education, monitoring and public awareness activities.

What they do

Sharklab-Malta focuses on the research, conservation, and protection of sharks, rays, skates, and other elasmobranchs in the Mediterranean. Its work includes scientific research, shark recovery and release, species monitoring and tagging, community engagement, and environmental education.

Through public awareness campaigns and school outreach programmes, the organisation promotes greater understanding of marine biodiversity and encourages the conservation of vulnerable marine species.
