Nature Trust (Malta)

Nature Trust (Malta) is a non-profit dedicated to protecting the natural environment. Founded in 1962, it promotes conservation and education through projects and partnerships, supporting habitats and sustainable practices.

What they do

Nature Trust (Malta) works to protect Malta’s natural environment through conservation, education, habitat management and wildlife protection. The organisation manages and supports a number of important natural sites, including nature reserves, marine areas and protected habitats across the Maltese Islands.
 

Its work includes restoring habitats, promoting environmental education through schools and community programmes, and encouraging people to connect with nature through outdoor activities and eco-tourism initiatives. Nature Trust (Malta) also coordinates environmental programmes and works with local and international partners to support wider conservation goals.

Education

As Malta’s national representative for the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), Nature Trust (Malta) delivers environmental education programmes that promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and active participation. Through its Education for Sustainable Development initiatives, the organisation works with schools, young people, and communities to develop the knowledge, skills, and values needed to make more sustainable choices.
 

Its programmes cover themes including biodiversity, climate change, waste management, water and energy conservation, ecology, and responsible consumption.
